Exhibition Bernard Buffet and Mark Dedrie

Exclusively and for the first time we are able to showcase the oil paintings and an exceptional collection of lithographs, both in color and black and white, of the French artist Bernard Buffet. This grand French master (1928 – 1999) is internationally renowned. His stills, nudes, melancholic self-portraits, sad clowns, Parisian cityscapes and landscapes were painted throughout his career in a very recognizable figurative style.

Michel Estades, manager Galerie Estades, specialist in the work of Bernard Buffet and partner of Early birds Art Gallery: ‘There’s a great demand for the work of Bernard Buffet. Every single day interested people call our galleries to inform themselves.’

A very busy quarantine and the fact that we were able to bring home various works after a stay in international galleries, allows us to show the biggest collection of the bronze sculptures of Mark Dedrie ever at Early birds Art Gallery. Grebes, owls, puffins, bee eaters, polar bears, hares and rabbits, we composed a beautiful exposition. An unique opportunity for the admirers of Mark’s work and also for those who wish to acquaint themselves. One is able to wonder at ‘Grouse’, that was exhibited last year in the Briscoe Western Art Museum, ‘Let’s Dance’, two elegantly dancing birds and ‘Sword-billed Hummingbird I’, the sculpture that was the first one to find a permanent place in a museum (Woodson Art Museum in Wausau). Of this sculpture we are exhibiting the last available copy.

Dying to meet Mark Dedrie? You are in luck! He will be present in the gallery on Friday 6th, Saturday 7th  an Sunday 8th of August.
