He depicts the animals in (studio)portraits, abstract or in movement. He shows them against simple backgrounds, so that we, the audience, may focus on the details and their morphological diversity. Get to know Mark and Francis Dedrie from Early Birds Art Gallery
Early Birds Art Gallery on the seawall in Knokke, it is ‘the place to be’ according to Mark and Francis, father and son, artist and business manager. Francis: “As a gallery, you’re part of a ‘total experience’ here: the sea, catering, fashion, jewellery and art in a relaxed atmosphere.” Mark: “it’s also symbolic, we’re in the place where Guy Pieters built his career. Now we are realising our future here!

They look straight into the lens, or appear to be posing as trained models. Some of them in their crisp feather suits, others seemingly unaware of their dazzling, colorful beauty. They are the birds of animal photographer Tim Flach (°1958). They find themselves in good company. Flach has created a magnificent photo collection (and books) about horses, dogs and threatened species.
