Exhibition Tim Flach

Who is Tim Flach?

Flach studied Photography and Painting at the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. It was during his studies that he discovered his fascination for the animal world, when he made a series of photographs in the London Zoo. After his education he started his career working in commercial photography and worked for brands such as Adidas, Cirque Du Soleil and jaguar. His pictures were published in National Geographic, The New York Times Magazine and the Sunday Times. His work is being exhibited in art galleries around the world, from Japan to the U.S.A.

Throughout the years Flach has worked on several series, each of which was published in a book. He spent seven years working on his first series; Equus (2007). The second series, Dog Gods, followed in 2010. In his third series, More Than Human (2012), Flach’s signature style came forward. He depicts the human aspects of animals and thus brings man closer to nature. In his fourth series, Endangered (2017), he focussed on rare animal species that are often faced with the threat of extinction. During the making of Endangered, he became enthralled by the diverse species of birds he encountered. That led to his most recent series, Birds (2021).

Night of het Zoute

After a two year absence the Night of het Zoute has returned. It promises to be an extra festive edition because Early Birds Art Gallery is opening a special exhibition of the world renowned photographer Tim Flach. It is a big exhibition with over 30 of his works and shows a selection of his various series and thus manages to give a balanced overview of Flach’s career. And you’ll have the opportunity to meet the artist himself.
